Right while I was heading out to take pictures of Jake, I saw Mitch leaving. So I headed after him to snap a few pictures and scolded him for not properly saying good bye. He retorted: ” I am sneaky like that “!!!.
Jake arriving was a whole different sight than 2 checkpoints ago in Unalakleet. He had his pep in the step back on so did his dogs. They were parked in the same spot as Mitch was and were scarfing for food. 15 dogs strong, I still think he could ” do some damage ” if he keeps it together. TIme will tell what his mindset is. Getting 15 dogs to Nome or racing hard. He said he was going to give them a good feeding here, let them digest and head on over to Elim.
