Hello Iditarod Race Fans,

When I ran the race, fans were lining up at the start banquet to gather signatures after we drew out bib numbers. That made for some pretty long lines and a very late evening. Thus the Meet the Mushers event, a few hours prior to the banquet, was created. This is a much more fun, and social way to mingle with the fans. At the Meet and Greet Mushers have quite a bit more time to talk to the fans and take pictures. It is no wonder that the event is well attended. An added bonus is the beautiful view over the wilderness city of Anchorage from the Dena’ina Centre deck.
