Biography

Carmen Perzechino, 41, was born in New Hampshire. He owned a mechanical installation company in New Hampshire before moving to Alaska in 1996. He is currently a Kenai River guide.

He started ski joring in 1997. After that Russell Lane gave him some dogs and he took up mushing and “liked it.” He worked for Mitch Seavey. He says Mitch was a very good teacher. Some of his dogs are from Seavey and others from Dean Osmar and some are puppies he has raised.

He says he’s running the Iditarod for his children and his family and for the adventure with his dogs. He is married to Lisa and they have two children, Liana and Maria. He says his hobby is finding and carving moose antlers and “family fun.”
