Biography

Isaac Teaford, 33, grew up in Salt Lake City, Utah and after four years serving in the United States Navy he moved to Alaska in 2017 where he began pursing a career in guiding. This eventually led him to Talkeetna, Alaska where he now calls home. Isaac races and trains dogs out of Dallas Seavey’s Kennel and has been involved with the Iditarod now for seven years. Isaac has competed in races all over Alaska – the Kobuk 440, Yukon Quest 300, Willow 300, Knik 200 and the Iditarod (2024) to name a few. “There is nothing quite like the feeling of working with a group of dogs from when they are born to seeing them grow up and be able to tackle all the challenges Alaska can throw at them. These dogs continue to inspire and motivate me! My favorite part of racing is getting to spend days in remote parts of Alaska and crossing the finish line of a race with a strong team that is barking and excited to keep going” says Isaac. When he isn’t working with dogs, Isaac spends his time playing his trumpet, hunting, trapping, fishing, skiing and spending most of his time outside.
