Wow, what a run Dallas has done since Kaltag. He has really put on the heat. Just looking at these numbers is amazing. He left Kaltag at 12.56 p.m. in 13th place. Aliy Zirkle the current race leader left Kaltag at 3.18 a.m. He was almost 10 HOURS off pace at that point in the race. And now here in Koyuk, that has shrunk to a mere 2.5 hrs he arrived behind Aliy Zirkle and Jeff King. And boy those 9 dogs he is driving, they are doing exactly that: DRIVING HARD, charging into the wind. Dallas must have a huge grin on his face, I could not see that as bundled up as he was, as on this run alone he passed Sonny Lindner and Aaron Burmeister. And passing a team during a run at this stage in the race for sure is a huge motivational factor. Those ahead of him really have to watch out.
