1985 Libby Riddles made headlines across the globe becoming the first woman to win the Iditarod Sleddog Race! She made history and also forged her way through a coastal storm that would become legendary in the history of the race. This great Champion recounts her days competing in the Iditarod.
Rudy Demoski was born and raised in Anvik, Alaska. He began mushing in 1974 and says he became interested in the Iditarod because he saw Ken Chase run in 1973. He ran his first Iditarod in 1974, finishing fourth.
Terry Adkins was the only veterinarian on the first Iditarod back in 1973. He started running the Iditarod in 1974 and had run the Iditarod 21 times by 1998
