Wade Marrs 6th Into Koyukuk

The chasing pack is getting to Koyukuk. And a big pack it is. The mushers are lined up along the trail one after another, with no real breaks. It is nice to see Wade Marrs being so well into the mix. He was one of our picks for the pre-race interviews too and seems to be living up to expectations.

Jessie Royer, currently in 7th position, has picked off a few teams since she left Huslia. She still drives a big string of 15 dogs. Jessie is tough as nails and known to finish strong. She used to train in Alaska and this winter all of her training had been done in Montana, where they often had colder weather than in the 49th state.

Kusko 300 Champion Pete Kaiser is driving a very fast dogteam, and Joar Leifseth Ulsom has recovered after an unsuccessful Yukon Quest run.
