Biography
Gerald Riley, 69, was born in Alaska. He is one of the few Native Alaskans still competing in the Iditarod.
Jerry began mushing in 1952 and began running the in the second race in 1974. He was the fourth winner of the Iditarod, taking home the first place trophy in 1976.
He has worked as a boat captain and a carpenter. He retired four years ago and now concentrates on his dog mushing. Jerry is married to Marge. They have one adult son, Gerald Riley, II.
