Jim Gallea was born in Minnesota in 1980. He was raised in Montana. He, his mom and his dad are all Iditarod veterans. Jim began mushing when he was six years old and ran the Jr. Iditarod before running his first Iditarod. He works as a sled dog tour guide with the Seavey’s in the summers.

A member of the Montana Mountain Mushers and the IOFC, Jim says he “enjoys computers, hunting and fishing”. Jim is single.
