Biography
Dean Osmar, 59, was born in Michigan. He came to Alaska to go fishing, which he’s been doing for “fifty years.” He began mushing in 1980 and won the Iditarod in 1984. He is married to Sarah and is the father of Tim, 38, also an Iditarod musher, Joalyn, 34 and Leif, 29. His hobby is coin collecting.
