Biography

Greg Fritz was born on June 24, 1962 in Fort Wayne, Indiana. He enlisted in the US Army at the age of 18 and was stationed at Ft. Wainwright in Fairbanks, AK from 1986 until 1990 as an Army cook. In 1996, he moved to Ft. Richardson in Anchorage. Greg retired 3 years ago. He met and married Sheila and together they have three children, Jesse, Moriah and Jeremy. Greg went to Anchorage Animal Control to adopt one husky for skijoring in 1999. He saw a need for a husky sled dog rescue. He started a kennel in 2001 to help Mat-Su Animal Control, other rescues and mushers giving up dogs or the sport altogether. All American Husky Rescue, Inc. (the kennel) is in non-profit application process with the federal government. Greg will be running the Iditarod with all rescued dogs, promoting responsible pet ownership, “spay and neuter your pets,” and “pound pets,” make great companions.
