We went out on a training run with Martin at his Kennel in Big Lake, Alaska. The October morning was crisp and it was a great time to chat with this mountain of sled dog knowledge. From genetics to training and can he win again Martin is very revealing in this conversation.

Kristy and Anna Berington have nearly 20 Iditarod finishes between the two of them. And they are hard at work at their kennel near Wasilla preparing for 2021 and that’s where we spent time with them in Ocotber.   They have always traveled together but they may be making some changes this year and trying …

He won the Iditarod in 2018 and he will certainly be one of the favorites again in 2021.  He’s never finished out of the top 7 and his team will be young but by the sounds of things he has some rising stars in the squad.

He grew up in a suburb near Houston, Texas and now rookie Williams will try to lead his team across the arctic.

She’s always a contender on the Iditarod Trail and it’s been known for a long time that she has a way with her team. But her ability to train animals goes after beyond her sleds dogs and into her horses. Jessie is a modern day Annie Oakley. 

After taking 3 years off from the Iditarod Dallas Seavey has come back and is ready to go after his 5th Championship.  He has combined kennels with his father Mitch (who is taking the year off) and together they have a team that will contend for the title.

He’s a long time veteran and he’s a reservoir of knowledge!  He is Linwood Fiedler and we caught up with him at his kennel in WIllow to talk sleddogs, Hank and why he’s like Garth Brooks!

Gabe Dunham got very close to the finish line in 2020 but she had to make the decision to delay her dream of reaching Nome to 2021.  She is training hard in Willow and we caught up to her at Linwood Fiedlers’ kennel.

She grew up on a trapline and she is no stranger to hard work. Joanna Jagow balances a full-time career while pursuing her dream to run the Iditarod.
