Veteran musher Riley Dyche made the decision to take his 24 in McGrath. Originally, he was going to go all the way to Iditarod to take it. Knowing now that Sass & Holmes stopped in Ophir, he looks back on his decision that ultimately cost him a shot at the halfway prize.

It wasn’t his plan to stop in McGrath, but by doing what’s best for his team, the veteran musher declared his 24 in McGrath.
Matthew Failor stopped in McGrath for a few minutes to grab some supplies and get a greeting from his pregnant wife Liz before heading off to Takotna.
