Biography
Dexter Kancer, 32, was born in New Hampshire. Before moving to Alaska in 2001 with the goal of running the Iditarod, he was living in Colorado and working as a carpenter. ”I got my first dog in 1996 and hooked up three dogs. I haven’t stopped since. I love the dogs and the time I’ve spent with them in the wilderness.” He competed in a couple of mid-distance races before moving to Alaska.
Dexter is currently working in Nenana as a carpenter. He is married to Kerrie Williams. He lists his hobbies as biking and dogs
