State Representative Neal Foster was born in Nome and grew up watching the finish as a child. He shares with the Insider his memories of growing up in Nome and his thoughts on the race’s impact state-wide.

The Insider caught up with last year’s runner-up at the mushers banquet and asked her about the lack of snow on the trail. Aliy Zirkle says she knows the trail is going to be tough but she says bring it on.

The Governor took a few minutes with the insider at the 2014 Musher’s Banquet at the Dena’ina Center in Anchorage.
