Biography
Twenty-six year old Sam Perrino was born in Quebec, Canada on April 3, 1976. He began mushing when he was 14 and is an active member of the Great Slave Dog Club. Sam was a mushing apprentice under Frank Kelly, one of the North West Territory’s best mushers. He began raising pups ten years ago and now has a kennel of 70 dogs. He has concentrated on stage and middle distance races in the past but is moving toward longer distance running. He plans to run the Iditarod as a learning experience with Rookie of the Year as his goal.
Sam is married to Petra and they have a three year old son, Quinn. Sam is an electrician and lists his hobbies as “dogs, dogs, dogs.”
