Biography
Paige Drobny, 50 (Veteran) was born in Bryn Mawr, PA. SHe is married to Cody Strathe. Paige runs thirty seven dogs out of Squid Acres Kennel in Denali Highway, Alaska. Paige has attempted and completed ten Iditarods, finishing 5th in 2024. Among her other races are the Copper Basin, Kuskokwim, and Yukon Quest. When asked how she got into mushing, she says, “My husband built me a sled.” Paige and Cody’s kennel is affectionately named Squid Acres after Paige’s masters thesis project on squid in the Bering sea. After many years mushing and racing the Iditarod, Paige is unequivocal: “I love spending time on the trail with my best furry friends.” When not mushing, Paige enjoys doing anything that keeps her outdoors, including her job as lodge owner and tour operator at Susitna Adventure Lodge. Both Paige and her husband have 25 years of professional outdoor experience in remote areas of Alaska, and both are certified wilderness first responders and have a variety of outdoor training including swift-water rescue.
