Biography
Cim Smyth, 40, was born and raised in Fairbanks, Alaska. The family moved to the Wasilla area in 1991. He is the son of Iditarod veteran “Bud” Smyth. Cim says he’s been mushing “since I was big enough to stand on a sled.” He’s run many races besides the Iditarod, starting in 1994, when he was the champion of the Jr. Iditarod . He’s since been a three time champion of the Tustumena 200, 4 time Klonkide 300 champion and also a Kobuk 440 champion. He lists his occupation as carpenter and wild land firefighter. He is married to Corinne. They have a daughter, Nory, age 2, And a son, Ari, age almost 1. He enjoys horses, gardening and history.
