GPS Tracker Images!

Libby Here!

Yesterday I told you about the GPS Tracker.  I thought you’d like to see a few more pictures of the trackers because they are so cool!

As I told you yesterday, the trackers are attached to the sleds.  They have to be secured carefully so they  don’t fall off when the dogs pull the sleds over the trail.  Sometimes sleds tip over, so the tracker needs to stay in place to give out the signal for the satellite to pick up and send to the website.  The trackers are run by batter power.  The batteries are very strong and generally work for the entire race.  Sometimes a tracker stops sending a signal and then, the crew needs to get a different tracker to the musher when the musher reaches a checkpoint.

Just spinning some De’tails’!
