2017 Winter Teacher’s Conference

Whether you are at home or in school, my guess is that you are learning. While you’re doing that where you are, there is a group of teachers here in Anchorage from Alaska and the lower 48 states.  There is even a teacher here from Hawaii! They are all a part of the Iditarod Teaching and Learning Winter Conference. Teachers are sharing Iditarod ideas in all the subjects including math, science, reading, and technology. BowWow! Even teachers have something to learn. Who knew?

My friend, Annie Kelley, the 2017 Iditarod Teacher on the Trail is here as well as finalists for the 2018 Teacher on the Trail position. Annie is also learning from other teachers as she prepares for her time on the trail. In the picture, Annie is putting dog booties on a chair.  Hey Annie! Those aren’t dog paws!

This is all a part of the activities leading up to the Last Great Race.
