We are thrilled to announce that Tami Schoff of South Berwick, Maine, has been selected as the 2027 Iditarod Teacher on the Trail. Tami is a dedicated educator currently teaching sixth-grade Language Arts. Her kindhearted nature and passion for the Iditarod are evident upon meeting her. After reading the book “Black Star, Bright Dawn” and thoroughly researching the Iditarod, she discovered an effective way to captivate her sixth graders’ interest in learning. For the past 14 years, the Iditarod has been a central focus of a six-week unit in her classroom. Tami’s enthusiasm is infectious, inspiring her colleagues to incorporate Iditarod themes into their own teaching practices.
