Biography

Rohn Buser, 36, (Veteran) lives in Big Lake, Alaska with his wife Alyssa Buser and children Kaladin and Elowen. Rohn and Alyssa own and operate Susitna Sled Dog Adventures in Talkeetna, a 60-dog kennel. Among Rohn’s many races are the Jr Iditarod, Kuskokwim 300, Kobuk 440, Knik 200, Yukon Quest AK 300, and three Iditarods. Rohn was born into an Iditarod family and grew up alongside sled dogs. “My father, Martin Buser is my biggest hero,” says Rohn. “I learned so much about working with dogs from him, and I look forward to passing that knowledge along to my children.” For Rohn, the Iditarod is the ultimate test of skill for both musher and dogs. He says the profound experience of facing the challenges of the trail “with sixteen of my best friends” is hard to put into words. When not competing, Rohn spends time with his dogs and children. He stays busy operating Susitna Sled Dog Adventures, where they offer sled dog tours both summer and winter.
