Aliy Zirkle was the first to reach the Bering Sea Coast Saturday arriving just after 4:30 establishing another record in this year’s race. For her efforts she receives the Gold Coast Trophy and 2 ounces of gold from Wells Fargo.
While sitting on the beach in Florida, Danny Seavey got a message asking him to spring into action. An injury to Iditarod veteran Matt Giblin forced Seavey to leave the sun and sand behind for the freezing temperatures of Alaska.
