Hello friends,
Just like the Iditarod Sled Dog Race, the Junior Iditarod saw many changes this year. There wasn’t enough snow so instead of racing from Knik Lake, the teams left from Tolsona Lake to Crosswind Lake where they could take a break, then to Lake Louise for their 10 hour layover. The next morning they returned along the same route. Emily Robinson from Nenana, AK made history (or herstory) being the only musher to win 4 Junior Iditarods. Awooooooooo! Good for you Emily!
All the young mushers finished the race and should be congratulated for being brave enough to participate in the 140 mile race.
