Hi Boys and Girls,
What a great night I’ve had. I went to the Musher meet and greet and the Musher banquet tonight. It was held at the Dena’ina Convention Center in downtown Anchorage. The Meet and Greet is a great opportunity for fans to meet with the mushers, talk to them and get their signatures. After the Meet and Greet, everyone went into another room for dinner and the bib number draw.
Here are a few pictures from the Meet and Greet
Can you guess why these two pictures go together?
When the Meet and Greet was over, we all went downstairs and had a wonderful dinner. Each year the tables are decorated with centerpieces made by school children. They were really cute. The one on my table was really cute.
After dinner, the mushers went up on stage and pulled their bib numbers out of a mukluk. This number is very important because it tells what position a team will start the race. I will post a link to the complete list when it is posted. Until then, I will tell you that the number 2 bib was drawn by Cody Strathe. He will be the second musher to leave for the Ceremonial start after the Honorary Musher, and the first to leave the start line at the restart in Willow. Check back soon for the link to the entire list.
Well it’s been a long day and this sleepy pup needs to get some rest. Once I’m awake-
I’ll see you on the trail,
Gypsy
