When Does the Race End?

Now is the time we start thinking about a winner in the race.  The first person to get all the way to Nome will be the winner.

But maybe you wonder, “When will the race end?”

The answer is very simple.  The race will end when the last musher gets to Nome.

That is one reason that I spin, spin, spin in circles about the Iditarod.  In most other kinds of races, the race ends when the first person crosses a finish line.  BUT not in Iditarod!  The race is officially over when the last musher and team reach Nome. 

I’m going to spin, spin, spin, spin a dance and give a howl for every finisher during the Iditarod.  How about you?
