Hi Boys and Girls.

Mitch Seavey is the first musher to leave White Mountain after taking his 8 hour Mandatory rest there. He has 77 miles to go to reach Nome. There is one checkpoint, Safety, along the way. Safety is 22 miles from Nome.

Mitch has an 1 hour 59 minute lead over Dallas Seavey and and a 2 hour 12 minute lead over Nicolas Petit. Mitch should be able to keep the lead- but you never know! Do you think Mitch will win? When do you think he will arrive into Nome? It will be this evening.

The race for 2^nd is the one to watch. Dallas and Nicolas are 13 minutes apart. They have been playing leap frog for the past day. I wonder who will reach Nome in 2^nd place.
