Hi Boys and Girls,

Last night the Iditarod Musher Banquet was held at the Dena’ina Convention Center in Anchorage.  This is a time for the mushers, family, friends, and fans, to get together before the race.  A fabulous meal is served.  Hobo Jim provides entertainment. Fans are able to meet their favorite musher and get his/her autograph.  One of the biggest events of the evening is when the mushers pick their starting bib number.  The mushers are called to the stage in the order they signed up.  They pick their numbers out of a mukluk.  Most mushers then give a speech thanking their families and sponsors.  It’s a fun night for all involved.
