Welcome to your first Trail Word Tuesday!  As promised, I will be posting a word on the second and third Tuesdays of each month.  This is to help you create your very own Iditarod Musher Word Wall with real quotes from real mushers.  Countless past and present mushers as well as other people within the race have been contacted with a list of words.  They were asked to choose one and explain how this word stands out, how they try to live by this word, or how it embodies the spirit of the Iditarod.  You will get to read their complete response as well as a printable poster page to create a Musher Word Wall.  Each poster will highlight the word, definition, quote, and photo.  I am hopeful it will be a great way to showcase the emotional and behavioral aspect of what it takes to be a part of this incredible race.  Enjoy these amazing words by the one-and-only, Libby Riddles!

“I’m going to choose innovation. I think of innovation as a way to think outside the box, to think of new ways of using things, but also new ideas on what is possible and how things can be done in a way that’s new and unique. It’s also the ability in a stressful situation to not just respond negatively, automatically, but to try to look at the opportunity to create a new pattern or find an interesting solution instead of panicking. I think it’s also the ability to make the best of a loss because you can think of new ideas of how that loss can move you forward.” -Libby Riddles
