Go Right! Go Left! Gee! Haw!

Libby Here!

Did you ever wonder what mushers say in order to get their dogs to go one direction or another?

To go right, a musher says, ‘Gee!”

To go left, a musher says, “Haw!”

Dogs have to listen and follow the directions because there are no ropes connecting the dogs to the musher!  A musher hangs on to the handle bars of the sled, not reigns.  Dogs must listen for the command and follow it in order for a team to run a successful race.

Just spinning some De’tails’!
