March 15, 2017 Evening Update

Hi Boys and Girls,

Good Evening. Nome remains a busy place and will get busier in the next few hours. Thirteen teams have finished. Five more teams have left Safety, and ten teams have left White Mountain. There are a bunch of mini races going on. Hans Gatt and Ralph Johannessen (15th and 16th) left Safety 5 minutes apart. Katerine Keith and John Baker (18th and 19th) left Safety at the same time. Rookie Report

Currently in the Rookie of the Year Position is Sebastian Vergnaud who is in 22nd Place. He has left White Mountain. Robert Redington is in 23rd place and has also left White Mountain. They are 14 minutes apart. Looks like there will be a race for Rookie of the year!

Red Lantern Position

Rookie Paul Hansen in 66th place. He is in Unalakleet with 5 other mushers- 3 of them are rookies Roger Lee in 62nd place, Peter Reuter in 64th place, and Jimmy Lebling in 65th place are also in Unalakleet. It looks like the Red Lantern Position is still up for grabs!
