Teachers Who Use the Iditarod at School

Dear Girls and Boys,

This week, three teachers will travel to Alaska as finalists for an amazing honor called “Iditarod Teacher on the Trail™.”  The Iditarod Education department allows one teacher to go on the race to report back to students and teachers all over the world about what is going on during the race!  Doesn’t that sound fun?!  The Teacher on the Trail™ doesn’t drive a team of dogs.  He or she is flown by the Iditarod Air Force planes from checkpoint to checkpoint to see what is happening and write about it to you!

Iditarod Air Force planes have skis so they can land on rivers.

Each of these three amazing teachers want that honor.  While in Alaska this week, they will give a presentation to other teachers, have a challenge to complete, and write to students and teachers every day.  See their articles in the Iditarod Education – Finalist Journal tab!

I want you to get to know them better.  Here is some interesting information about each 2021 Teacher on the Trail™ finalist!
