Hello friends,
This has been one crazy Iditarod! 3 mushers were rescued by helicopter due to deep overflow on the trail. Read about that here. All canines and humans are safe and healthy. The final 11 teams still racing turned back to Elim on Friday after they encountered poor trail conditions. They decided to wait it out there and are now back on a modified trail to White Mountain for their mandatory 8 hour layover. The dogs and mushers are well rested and happy to be back on the trail.
After White Mountain the Elim 11 will be heading to Nome for the final leg of their journey. Keep watching!
Tail wags,
