Aliy Zirkle has finished Iditarod fifteen times including three consecutive second place finishes. Zirkle makes it no secret that she wants to be the next woman to win the Iditarod and she’s willing to put forth the necessary effort to do so in training her dogs and herself. Zirkle is the only woman to have won the Yukon Quest. Her biography in the race guide says, “Iditarod is my passion, may job, my life… Alaskan husky sled dogs are the focus of my life. We breed, raise, and train the best individual dogs we possibly can at SP Kennel. We have some of the most talented, fun-loving, dedicated sled dogs in the world so racing them on the largest stage in the world – the IDitarod – seems only fitting.”
