PenAir CEO Present Spirit of Alaska Award

The PenAir Spirit of Alaska Award is designed cooperatively between CEO Danny Seybert of PenAir and artist Jon VanZyle.  The award represents the spirits of the sixteen dogs and the spirit of the musher becoming one in the Iditarod.  The Aleut hat became a part of the art work because of Seybert’s Aleut ancestry.

What awards are presented to mushers along the Iditarod Trail?  Who sponsors the awards?  Do the winners of the “first” to MCGrath or the Half-way point or Kaltag or White Mountain usually go on to win the Iditarod?  What awards are presented at the Nome Musher’s banquet?  Who decides on who gets what awards?
