Breakfast in bed is a real treat, like a special celebration treat. Musher G.B. Jones just brought these dogs bowls filled with warm broth and kibble. The dogs have been laying around most of the day, just taking it easy and enjoying the warm sunshine. Breakfast in bed is their reward for putting together a great run during the first half of the race. Once the teams get to McGrath, they’re through the technical driving challenges of the Happy River Steps and the Dalzell Gorge. They’ll face new challenges as they approach the coast. I’ll bet they’ll get breakfast in bed at their next required rest of eight hours on the Yukon.
