Iditarod Winter Educators Conference
“Engage! Inspire! Succeed!”
At the Lakefront Hotel
February 28 – March 3, 2023 in Anchorage, Alaska
Hold on to your sled because this conference is going to be a fascinating ride! The theme of “Engage! Inspire! Succeed!” tells it all. Teachers that wrap the Iditarod around and through their required curriculum know that it engages students in learning, inspires them to work hard, and leads them to success. We are going to do that for you! With 3 1/2 days of engaging speakers, lessons, and activities that will inspire you to ignite that Iditarod spark in you, no matter if you are a “veteran” or “rookie” Iditarod educator, and give you authentic learning tools to “mush” your students to success.
It is truly an experience that will equip you like no other professional development training. Rub elbows with Iditarod mushers, staff, dogs, legends, fans, and other educators. Experience Iditarod pre-race veterinary checks first hand and visit Martin Buser’s Happy Trails Kennel. Participate in the Musher Meet and Greet and drawing banquet on March 2. Gain access to the start chute at the Ceremonial Start in downtown Anchorage. All of this and a sled full of Iditarod based lessons to engage and inspire you.
Remember – Educators in Alaska are able to register for single days at a special rate. Please use your Alaska school district email when you register and/or include your school name.
